NOVEMBER 2007 - MESSAGE FROM SCOT

"We are working very hard to get the film to DVD. The delay is due to music licensing and the costs and legal issues involved for use outside of film festivals. We are doing all in our power to make the release happen for everyone. I want to thank you for your patience and for your support. I'll make this happen, it's just taken more time than expected due to unforeseeable complications."

Scot Barbour

MAY 2005 - LOVEROCK CELEBRAYSHUN!

Mirabeau Room hosts benefit concert to celebrate the life and music of Andrew Wood.

In conjunction with the highly anticipated SIFF music documentary, MALFUNKSHUN: The Andrew Wood Story, a concert boasting an eclectic line-up with special guests will be held after the EMP screening of the film on June 9th. A portion of the proceeds of the evening will be going to The Vera Project a music center run by and for youth.

The concert line up includes bands and individual musicians who shared a special relationship with Andy Wood:

Joe Abrams
Suzy Cornell
Jerel
Kevin Wood & HippieGlitz
Brian Wood
Shawn Smith
…and special guest performances!

Additionally, the evening will include a silent auction featuring some of Lance Mercer’s exclusive film photos of Andy Wood, Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. Tickets for the concert are $10.00 and may be purchased at the door or through TicketsWest.

Thursday, June 9th. Doors open at 8:00 - show starts at 9:15. (21+)
Mirabeau Room
529 QUEEN ANNE AVE. N.
Seattle, WA.
USA

The concert is a musical tribute following two screenings of the film, MALFUNKSHUN, The Andrew Wood Story, on June 4th 6:30pm, Neptune Theatre and June 9th, 7:00pm, The EMP. "In "Malfunkshun," Wood’s story is told through his music, home movies and by interviews with family, friends, and fellow musicians. After Mother Love Bone broke up - soon after Wood’s death - Gossard and Ament went on to form Pearl Jam. The film’s soundtrack includes music from Malfunkshun, Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog (an album created in tribute to Wood), and unreleased Andrew Wood solo.

MALFUNKSHUN marks Scot Barbour’s directorial debut. The film is a kaleidoscope of live action, interviews, music, and animation that pays tribute to one of the forerunners of the Seattle grunge movement. Not only did Barbour direct MALFUNKSHUN, but he also produced and edited the film.
